Blessed Life

Blessed Life

We have in Isaiah chapter 33 verses 15 to 17 some of the things that make up a blessed life for a believer in Christ.

  1. A righteous life. The believer is to seek to live according to the righteous requirements of God in His word if they would know a truly blessed life. We see in these verses that will involve seeking to speak in a way that is pleasing to God. They will not seek to gain in this world by anything contrary to the will of God. We also see they will not listen to gossip that destroys a person's character. They will not look on anything evil or immoral. Here are then things we need to have right in our lives if we want to experience a truly blessed life.
  2. It is a heavenly life. Dwelling on high speaks of fellowship with God most high and being eternally safe.
  3. It is a well supplied life. Bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure. This reminds us that all we require spiritually and practically will be supplied by God.
  4. It is a life with a sure hope. Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty, tells the believer they shall see the Lord in all His beauty. The disciples saw Him in His risen glory but as believers we shall see Him in His beauty as the exalted, glorified God the Son. There is no question about this as seen in the use of the word "Shall". It is the answer to the prayer of God the Son to God the Father in John 17, "Father I will that they also whom thou hast given me be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory".

Some want to die the death of the righteous without living the life of the righteous but you can't have one without the other. It is only those who trust in the shed blood and death of Christ to save them a sinner, resulting in seeking to live a righteous life that have a blessed life, death and eternity seeing Jesus in all His beauty.
