Don’t Worry

It is important to be reminded about what we already know. Worry is not our friend, and panic is not our way as believers in Christ. Proverbs 24v10 reminds us "If thou faint in the day of adversity your strength is small". May it never be said that God's people are governed more by fear than by faith.

While we are to remain alert about the COVID 19 virus, worrying won't change our circumstances or lower our chance of infection. Rather than worrying and being anxious, Jesus says we are to respond with prayer and faith in Him (Matthew 6v33, 34 and Philippians 4v6).  The believer in Christ need not worry because we know as our Saviour the one who has defeated sin and death (1 Corinthians 15v57).

We will all face death eventually but through Jesus we can face that day with confidence for "To live is Christ and to die is gain" (Philippians 1v21).

Paul found when praying to God to heal him of his thorn in the flesh, God did not. However he did find that the grace God gave him was sufficient to enable him to live and cope with his thorn in the flesh.  So live in God's strength, day by day trusting in Him.
