We all make promises at different times in our lives. A promise is us saying or writing something that we will or will not do. The character and power of the person who makes the promise has a great deal to do whether or not the promise is kept. Many make promises but their character is such they don't keep them. However, God is good, He can't lie and is a faithful God, He has a character which means He always keeps His promises. Others make promises they intend to keep but find they don't have the power to keep them. God is all powerful, all He has promised He can bring to pass.
There are so many promises given by God in the bible. They are described in 2 Peter 1v4 as "Exceeding great and precious promises." Promises dealing with all our needs and circumstances in life. God promises sinners against Him that they will be saved if they believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. When it comes to the believer in Christ there are promises not to leave or forsake us, care for us, guide us, comfort us, provide, hear and answer our prayers and work all that happens to us for our good. When the day to die comes, God promises the believer in Christ they will be blessed being with Christ.
All God's children through faith in Christ Jesus need to make sure they are not unbelieving when it comes to God's promises. They may seem too good to be true and impossible to keep but God will keep all His promises. Faith realises God's promises cannot fail!
